Ante Natal

Pilates is a fantastic form of exercise for mums-to-be and new mothers. Pilates sessions will be tailored to suit your needs. We will develop a programme that strengthens muscles that come under stress during pregnancy.

I have specialised in formulating exercise programmes for pregnant women so will be able to personalise an effective programme for you and will choose suitable exercises for each stage of pregnancy as well as post natal.

It is important that you receive the all-clear from your GP or midwife before undertaking any exercise. It is advisable that you do not exercise between weeks 8-12.

All ante natal classes are suitable from 14 – 16 weeks up till the birth of your baby. Please click here for our timetable of classes and click here for details of fees.

An effective Pilates programme can help promote good breathing techniques, endurance flexibility, strength and body awareness during pregnancy, labour and post natal recovery. Pilates is mind conditioning and aids both the physical and mental demands of the pregnancy by focusing the mind and strengthening the core stabilizing muscles.

Pilates is also beneficial as it improves circulation, which could reduce the risk of leg cramps and varicose veins; reduces muscles aches and pains; increases energy; improves sleep; and prevents abdominal and pelvic floor weakness during and after pregnancy.

All ante natal sessions will use exercise balls and light weights.
